Telangana and Andhra Pradesh have ranked among the top five Indian Made Foreign Liquor (IMFL) consuming states for 2025. According to the latest IMFL report, both states secured the third and fourth spots nationally.
Karnataka led the list with 6.88 crore cases, accounting for 17% of the market share. Tamil Nadu followed closely with 6.47 crore cases, or 16%. Telangana reported 3.71 crore cases, while Andhra Pradesh recorded 3.55 crore, giving each a 9% national share.
Surprisingly, Delhi ranked 10th with just 1.18 crore cases, representing 3% of total IMFL consumption. Despite its vibrant nightlife, the national capital trailed behind states like West Bengal and Rajasthan in liquor sales.
As per data from the International Alliance for Responsible Drinking, IMFL consumers are predominantly high-income, literate males. While no exact figure is available, IMFL continues to account for a major portion of India’s liquor market.
