Andhra Pradesh district reorganization map

Andhra Pradesh is preparing for a fresh round of district reorganization. The plan includes merging parts of Palnadu, Guntur, and NTR districts to improve administration around the capital, Amaravati.

Markapuram constituency will now include Kanigiri, Giddaluru, Yerragondapalem, and Darsi constituencies. A new Rampachodavaram district is being proposed, combining Rampachodavaram and Chinturu divisions with nearby mandals.

A new Palasa district is also under consideration with Palasa, Icchapuram, and Pathapatnam constituencies. Gudur district may include Gudur, Venkatagiri, Sarvepalli, and Sullurpet constituencies, while Madanapalle district will likely cover Madanapalle, Pileru, Punganuru, and Thamballapalle constituencies.

Ten new revenue divisions, including Addanki and Madakasira, are planned. Boundaries will be revised so each constituency stays within a single division. Larger mandals like Adoni could be split for easier administration.

A final call will be made on whether Kandukur stays in Nellore or moves to Prakasam. After CM Chandrababu Naidu’s review, the proposal will go for cabinet approval.

The government plans to increase districts from 26 to 32 to fix issues from the earlier hurried reorganization and to reflect public and political feedback.

A cabinet sub-committee is preparing the final report, based on 200 citizen representations and district officials’ inputs. The cabinet will review it on November 7, and the process is expected to finish by December 31, before the national census begins.
