USA-Top-Choice-For-Techies-and-StudentsDespite facing challenges like job losses, visa limitations, and deadly mass shootings, the United States of America remains a top choice for Indians to migrate, study, and look for a better future.

In 2021, a significant number of Indians (78,284) chose the US as their adoptive country after giving up Indian citizenship. The US is favored for its world-class education, better job prospects, and opportunities to build a better life.

Indian students increasingly prefer American universities, with nearly 21% of foreign students in the US being Indians. The US offers a wide range of choices for higher education, unlike India, where postgraduate opportunities are limited.

The US’s tech boom has been a major attraction for Indian engineers seeking career progression and better pay. The H-1B visa program allows Indian IT professionals to work in the US, where they find a more structured work culture, better labor laws, and higher income levels than in India.

Indian-American households have one of the highest income levels in the US, making it an attractive destination for Indian professionals seeking financial stability.

Recent efforts to ease H-1B visas and clear backlogs, after PM Modi’s recent visit to the US, have further encouraged skilled Indians to consider the US as a destination for work and career opportunities.

Despite the challenges and sometimes even a threat to life due to incidents of gun shootings on a regular basis, the US continues to be perceived as a land of opportunity, drawing many Indians eager to pursue their American dreams.
