YSR Congress Must Be Renamed As YS Reddy Congress

When it comes to Caste Equations, Words, and Deeds seem to be different in YSR Congress.

After the 2024 rout, YS Jagan Mohan Reddy is appointing new incharges everywhere. After the defeat, the party is in utter disarray and many leaders have become inactive.

So there are six Mandals in the constituency and all the six Mandal Presidents are of Reddy Community.

YS Jagan Mohan Reddy in his speeches always says, “Na BClu, Na SClu, Na STlu”.

But in the implementations, things seem to be different.

SC voters at Kanigiri assembly is approximately 52,498 which is around 22.64% as per the 2011 Census.

ST voters at Kanigiri assembly is approximately 5,264 which is around 2.27% as per the 2011 Census.

But they seem to be unqualified.

In the 1970s, there used to be a party called ‘Reddy Congress’. Actually, it was Congress(R) or Congress (Requisitionists). There is no party called Reddy Congress but it was a mass block of Reddy leaders in the Erstwhile Congress party and they made it ‘Reddy Congress’.

People on social media are advising that Jagan Mohan Reddy can change his party name to ‘YS Reddy Congress’.

In the 2024 elections, out of the 175 Assembly segments, Reddys were given a whopping 49 seats. That constitutes around 28% of the total seats.

If we remove 29 SC reserved seats and 7 SC reserved seats, the percentage is more than 35%.

In Rayalaseema, the number is even more shocking. Out of the 52 total constituencies, Reddy community got a whopping 33 seats. That is 63.4% of the total seats. If we remove the nine SC reserved seats in the region, the percentage goes up to 75% of the total seats.

In Jagan Mohan Reddy‘s own District of Kadapa, Reddys got five out of the seven seats.
