What Is the Film About?
Arun’s(Sushanth) lack of driving skills is a major hindrance to his love life. He finally learns to drive a bike and also gets love for his life in a girl. Unfortunately, an unexpected incident changes his life drastically. How the bike, the girl are connected to it? Who is Narsing Yadav (Venkat) and what happened to Arun’s family and friends comprise the overall plot.
How Is Sushant’s Performance?
Sushanth works well with the combination of subtlety and little energy. It is a recipe for disaster when he tosses the former in the bin and overdoes the latter. It is how the opening sequences feel with Sushanth’s over-action. It gets louder (in the key sequences) as the narrative moves forward. It is an instantly forgettable outing for the actor.
Analysis ?
Debutant S Darshan handled Ichata Vahanamulu Nilupa Radu aka IVNR. It is the kind of film which has a wafer-thin plot and depends heavily on the gripping screenplay and performances to pull it off.
IVNR, unfortunately, fails to deliver the required. It is apparent within the first ten odd minutes itself. The effort to make something work and everything going wrong are visible. The writing, which gives a stale feeling, is primarily to be blamed here, first and foremost.
The second thing is the point related to the bike. It is turned into a critical part of the proceedings. However, the way it’s brought into the story (the flashback and linking with the girl) deserves far-far better execution than what we get here. The way it is in the movie makes one scratch their heads in disbelief. It also makes the whole issue look trivial and silly when it should be the opposite.
It is only towards the interval part that some momentum and interest are generated. The set of sequences involving parking the bike, an unexpected event in the house, and their linkage is fine. It makes one a little hopeful about the second half.
Sadly, the second half is a much bigger mess than the first. It makes one reconsider their opinion on the first half, which itself was terrible.
The biggest issue is the chaotic narrative. Too many characters and actions happen one after the other. The screenplay and execution here have to be brilliant to connect them all so that a punch is delivered. We get here a feeling of multiple events happening simultaneously and pulling the narrative in different directions. It makes one feel restless and uninterested.
A neat coming of age story with massy evolution for the hero was up for taking in Ichata Vahanamulu Nilupa Radu. It is a massively lost opportunity, in the end, though.
Towards the end, there are a few engaging moments related to the ‘core incident’. The timeline and trapping and realisation, etc., could have impacted if the rest were at the same level. It didn’t happen.
Overall, Ichata Vahanamulu Nilupa Radu is a wafer-thin story idea stretched way beyond anyone’s patience. The engaging moments are brief and occur rarely. It is a mess and deserves to be left alone.
Meenakshi Chaudhary and Others?
Meenakshi Chaudhary looks like a poor man’s Deepika Padukone. She has a poorly written role which is further made unbearable by the action. Venkat, seen after a long gap, is a decent presence. Unfortunately, he fails to make an impression as there is nothing impressive or memorable with the role.
The comedy gang, also the friend’s gang, comprising of Vennel Kishore, Priyadarshi, and Harish try to provide laughs but fail due to poor writing. Abhinav Gomatam overacts. The rest of the cast further add to the chaos all around.
Music and Other Departments?
The music by Praveen Lakkaraju is below par, barring a romantic melody. The background score fails to make any impact and is noisy. The cinematography by M Sukumar should have been better. Still, compared to other departments, it feels alright. The editing is poor, and it adds to the messy feeling of the narrative. The writing is below par. It lacks depth during the drama and comes across as stale in comedy portions.

Final Report:
IVNR has a thin line that is stretched beyond patience. The chaotic and messy narrative further bury any hopes of survival. Sushanth is back to square one after a couple of impressive outings.
— IVNR second half started. Arun (Sushant) brought himself into some big trouble.
First Half Report:
The lack of novelty and forced comedy make it challenging to sit through for most of the first half. The pre-interval and interval sequence provides some respite. It is risky parking so far, and a lot depends on the second half for a smooth ride.
— After some stale comedy the movie gets into a serious mode all of a sudden. The reason for Arun’s (Sushant) worry is yet to be revealed.
— Sushant is working hard to learn the bike riding with the help of his girlfriend.
— IVNR opens with Vennela Kishore’s comedy scenes. He sells bikes. Why does Sushant need a bike in his life? The story shifts into his flashback.
Actor Sushanth has had a restart of sorts in his career, with Chi La Sow and Ala Vaikuntapurramuloo coming back to back. He was looking to score a hat-trick immediately with Ichata Vahanamulu Nilupa Radu before the pandemic put a pause on the plans. After some gap, it is finally coming out now on August 27th.
Much like Chi La Sow, Ichata Vahanamulu Nilupa Radu also comprises a young and vibrant team. It is a content-based film with a dash of action to it, unlike Chi La Sow.
S Darshan debuts as a director with IVNR. It is a romantic drama with coming of age elements. The girl and bike play an important role in the narrative. Meenakshi Chaudhary is the ‘girl’, aka the female lead. Her pairing with Sushanth looks good. Together they seem to have had a lot of fun which should show on screen and become the movie’s USP.
Another factor working in IVNR favour is the supporting cast. Vennela Kishore, Abhinav Gomatam, Priyadarshi and others essay vital roles. There is a lot of scopes to have entertainment with them in the mix. Senior actor Venkat is seen playing a negative role.
Ravi Shankar and Ekta Shastri, along with Harish Koyalagundla, produce Ichata Vahanamulu Nipula Radu. The movie is getting a fairly decent release. With positive word of mouth, it could emerge a significant success for Sushanth and give him a hat-trick.
