A 23 year old woman from Kakinada has filed a complaint in Hyderabad alleging cheating and blackmail by a man who claimed to be a web series director. The incident reportedly took place while she was searching for acting opportunities.

According to the complaint, Shankar invited her for what he described as an audition. He allegedly took her in a car and asked her to perform certain scenes and speak explicit dialogues. He also recorded videos during the audition process.

The woman later discovered that the recorded videos had been uploaded on social media platforms. When the clips began circulating online, she reportedly asked Shankar to remove them immediately.

However, the complaint states that he refused to delete the videos. Instead, he allegedly threatened to upload them on additional platforms and attempted to blackmail her.

Following the incident, the woman approached the police and filed an official complaint. Authorities have registered a case and started an investigation into the matter.

Incidents like this highlight the risks faced by young aspirants who travel to large cities hoping to build careers in the entertainment industry. Many newcomers often depend on unknown contacts while searching for opportunities.

Experts often advise aspiring actors to verify credentials before attending auditions and to rely on trusted casting channels. The case has once again raised concerns about safety and exploitation in the entertainment field.

The woman’s decision to approach the police is being seen as an important step. In many similar cases, victims remain silent due to fear or social pressure.

Authorities will now examine the evidence and determine the next course of action. The investigation is expected to reveal further details about the allegations and the people involved.
