Manoj Muntashir Slams Yograj Singh's Controversial Comments on Hindi

Lyricist and writer Manoj Muntashir has sharply criticized Yograj Singh, father of cricketer Yuvraj Singh, for his controversial remarks about the Hindi language.

During a podcast, Yograj referred to Hindi as a “woman’s language,” claiming it lacks the strength and assertiveness of Punjabi. He said, “Hindi sounds like a woman speaking. Men should speak Punjabi because it has a stronger aura.”

Yograj didn’t stop there. He also made derogatory comments about women, claiming they shouldn’t head households, and went on to blame former Prime Minister Indira Gandhi for “destroying the country.”

Manoj Muntashir didn’t hold back in his response. Showing his anger to the audience on X (formerly Twitter), he called Yograj’s remarks ignorant and offensive.

He wrote, “Yuvraj Singh made the nation proud, but his father is bringing shame. This fool insults Hindi, the world’s third-largest language, and the brave women of India.”

Muntashir applauded the strength and resilience symbolized by Hindi and womanhood, adding a mocking prayer in Punjabi, “Jaldi theek hovo” (Get well soon).

His bold stand against such regressive and misogynistic remarks has won him widespread praise online.

Yograj’s comments have drawn widespread outrage, with many accusing him of promoting outdated and divisive ideas. Muntashir’s firm defense of Hindi as a language of pride and strength has been applauded by many, with social media users hailing him for not mincing words.
