Over the years, Bengaluru has undergone tremendous urban expansion and population inflow, resulting in a rise in the number of cars on the road.
The city’s infrastructure and transit systems have failed to keep up with the city’s rapid expansion. As a result, Bengaluru’s traffic is often a topic of controversy, and a video of the same has recently gone viral.
A video of a bus driver eating his whole lunch while sitting in the front seat has gone viral, demonstrating the severity of Bengaluru’s traffic congestion. The video, which was shared on Instagram by Sai Chand Bayyavarapu, shows the bus driver eating while stuck in traffic at the city’s Silk Board Junction.
The video has gotten over 1.4 million views and sparked a debate over the city’s traffic problems. Many people have expressed worry for the driver, who is clearly attempting to do his job in such congested conditions. Others have lambasted the administration for not dealing with the city’s traffic issues.
The event was filmed near the Silk Board Junction traffic bottleneck, according to the caption accompanying the video. “Peak Traffic Moment in Bengaluru,” stated the caption.
Internet users were saddened by the video. “It’s sad. The driver doesn’t even have time to sit and eat peacefully due to traffic,” one viewer remarked on the video.
“The struggle of drivers is really, really hard, I see my dad sacrificing so many things but I am proud to be a daughter of a BMTC driver, I request everyone to respect them,” commented another.
“Eating on the move is still acceptable… But what about obeying nature’s call? The difficulty is genuine for bus drivers and conductors. “I have a lot of respect for everyone out there,” commented another.
“Someone make these IT companies understand. They are hell-bent on people working from the office. The pathetic traffic, rise in pollution, soaring temperature.. all because of work from the office.” said another. In another 1-2 weeks, schools and universities will contribute to traffic… Then it rains, and we hear of daily accidents and murders caused by potholes on our roadways (due to rain).”
