Black Myth Wukong

In the gaming industry long after the monumental success of Elden Ring, we get to see a Chinese AAA title absolutely crushing the single player market with humongous numbers and it is none other than Black Myth: Wukong. Since the first announcement in 2020, Black Myth: Wukong had the single player community on the edge of their seats and as the steam sales suggest, the developers did not fail to deliver.

From the gameplay mechanics to the stellar graphics, Black Myth has exceeded expectations on every single aspect. This is the first AAA title from the developer company Game Science and they have proved that it is possible to deliver a premium quality game without the saturation of bugs and that too within expected time limit.

Huge companies like Ubisoft with their recent “Skull and Bones” and CD Projekt Red with their long awaited “Cyber Punk 2077” have generated nothing but disappointment in the gaming community. They should learn a few things from the success of Black Myth: Wukong.

The success of Black Myth: Wukong shows that a huge never ending open world environment is not necessary to attract gamers, a good linear gaming experience with balanced mechanics will do just fine.
But this huge rise in popularity for single player games like Elden Ring and Black Myth: Wukong sparks a question towards the Indian gaming community regarding the fact that despite the growth of consumers of games in India, we have not been able to produce a decent AAA title.

With international game developing studios showing no interest in producing games in India, the responsibility falls onto the hands of domestic developers and engineers.
