Sunrisers Hyderabad has a very loyal and passionate follower base. This is one of the principal reasons why the Hyderabad Stadium is often loaded with fans who come out in big numbers to support their team.
However, after the game against Gujarat last night, there is this one particular player who is being unanimously hated by every single SRH fan.
They said player is none other than Simarjeet Singh. Incidentally, this young bowler came to bowl in the crucial over of the powerplay when SRH had Gujarat in a strangle.
After four overs, Gujarat 16 for 2 and in deep trouble. This is exactly when Simarjeet Singh came into the scene and absolutely destroyed the momentum for Sunrisers Hyderabad.
While Cummins and Shami bowled tight lines to keep the Gujarat batsmen tucked up, Simarjeet Singh came and delivered a 20 run over.
While the first four overs of the powerplay considered just 16 runs this very single over from Simarjeet ended up costing, Sunrisers Hyderabad 20 runs. This was where the momentum shifted completely towards Gujarat, and there was no looking back ever since.
The more shocking fact, here is that Arijit Singh was not even a part of the starting lineup and he was included in the team as an impact player. This ended up costing, the team severely as he was absolutely shambolic with the ball.
Another type over in the power and possibly wicket could have made a world of difference to Hyderabad, but the over that was given to Simarjeet absolutely destroyed everything.
It is a fact that players are human after all, and they are bound to make some mistake, mistakes here and there. However, in such a high profile, where surprise Hyderabad desperately needed a win after having lost three consecutive games prior to that, better game sense was expected from Simarjeet.
Hyderabad fans on social media or tagging the franchise, and Captain Patrick Cummins, and suggest suggesting him to keep Simarjeet away from the team for the reminder of the season. But again, this is a logical call that will be taken by the team management based on the match situation.
