Air India has introduced a range of festive menus across its flights and airport lounges. The initiative aligns onboard services with major Indian celebrations such as Eid, Navratri and Gudi Padwa, aiming to enhance passenger experience with cultural touches.
As part of this move, passengers travelling during Eid are being served traditional Sheer Khurma. This festive dessert is available across all cabin classes and routes, including domestic and international flights, as well as return journeys to maintain consistency.
For Navratri, Air India has curated a vrat friendly menu for passengers. The special thali is available at the Maharaja Lounge in Delhi and includes Sabudana Khichdi, paneer dishes, fruits, raita, buttermilk and kheer for those observing fasting rituals.
Gudi Padwa celebrations were marked at the airline’s Mumbai lounge with traditional sweets. The menu featured Shrikhand, peda, gujiya and modak, reflecting regional flavours and the festive spirit of the Marathi New Year.
The rollout has been implemented across multiple catering partners to ensure uniform quality. These festive offerings are available both onboard and at airport lounges, creating a more immersive and culturally rich travel experience for passengers.
Air India said the initiative blends service with India’s diverse culinary heritage. It allows travellers to enjoy familiar festive flavours even while in transit, highlighting the airline’s focus on personalised service and cultural connection.
