A family from Hyderabad is seeking help online after their parents’ B-1/B-2 visa was rejected twice. They had applied to visit their daughter living in the US. Both attempts ended in disappointment.
First Rejection Over Income Error
The parents first applied in August. Their visa was denied because the monthly income they mentioned on the DS-160 was incorrect. The mistake became a major reason for refusal.
Second Rejection Despite Correct Details
They applied again in November with the correct income information. Yet, the visa was rejected once more. The family believes the officer noticed the income change and viewed it as an inconsistency.
Income Fluctuations Due to Agriculture
Their income comes from agriculture, which naturally varies with crop yields and seasons. The family feels it is unfair that this fluctuation worked against them during the interview.
Why the Visa Was Denied Again
Experts say the denial likely happened due to multiple factors. Their daughter lives in the US, and the parents did not show strong ties to India. The low income and the inconsistent DS-160 details added further doubt.
No Change in Circumstances
The parents reapplied without any major change in their situation. This made it harder to convince the consular officer that they would return home. Without strong evidence to overcome immigration intent, future approvals may remain unlikely.
