Pepsi’s Former CEO Advises Indians In US To Be Safe

Indra Nooyi

In an unexpected turn of events, the ex PepsiCo CEO, Indra Nooyi has asked for Indian students in the US to be extremely cautious and safe, highlighting the recent news she has been hearing of a high number of Indian-origin students landing in trouble. This statement comes as a bold warning given the person who’s giving it, and also sheds light on safety concerns in the country.

Indra is considered amongst the most powerful people not just among Indians but throughout the globe and rightfully so. Helming one of the biggest conglomerates in the entire world for over 12 years, every word of Nooyi carries weight and so did her 10-minute long video which focused on advising Indian students in the country to stay safe and alert.

Nooyi began her address by saying that the reason I’m recording this video is to Indians who are looking to come to the States for higher education or are already as she had been coming across about several examples of Indian students finding themselves in unfortunate situations. The statement raises a lot of concerns as such a condition should certainly not arise, and it also points out some targeted investigations which are likely driven by racial motives.

She asked the students to make sure what they do is within the law and do what it takes to remain. She further advised the students to not venture out into dark places alone at night and especially to avoid engaging in drugs or excessive drinking as they are nothing but an inevitable formula for disaster.
