When it comes to documenting history, few platforms are as versatile as Netflix, and this time, they have something special in store for the American audience, although global subscribers are also in for a treat.
Reports suggest that Netflix is currently developing a limited series about the life of U.S. President JFK. For this specific series, the streaming giant is partnering with Eric Roth, the co-writer of “Killers of the Flower Moon.”
The upcoming series will draw inspiration from the highly praised book “JFK: Coming Of Age In The American Century, 1917-1956” by Fredrik Logevall. This book, initially published in 2020, is the first part of a two-volume biography that explores Kennedy’s life journey.
Part one of the series covers his life from birth through his time as the junior U.S. Senator from Massachusetts.
Netflix US sees this as their American counterpart to the UK hit show “The Crown.” However, “The Crown” follows a specific format with cast changes every couple of seasons to reflect aging. Currently, there is no news or rumors about the showrunner for this JFK series, as the platform is still in search of the right candidate.
