Bollywood’s upcoming war film, “Pippa,” charges onto your screens through Prime Video. This action-packed film, inspired by Brigadier Balram Singh Mehta’s gripping book, “The Burning Chaffees,” brings the historic Indo-Pakistan war of 1971 to life, culminating in the birth of Bangladesh.
Ishaan Khatter, the star of “A Suitable Boy,” leads the charge as Captain Mehta from the 45th Cavalry tank squadron. But what’s the catch? The film’s title, “Pippa,” isn’t just catchy—it’s a nod to the legendary PT-76 amphibious tank, a crucial player in this high-stakes drama.
With an ensemble cast featuring Mrunal Thakur, Priyanshu Painyuli, and Soni Razdan, “Pippa” features the musical genius, A.R. Rahman, known for his spellbinding tunes.
The trailer looks pretty average as there are no spell-bounding scenes and the excitement factor seems to be missing. The decision to release Pippa on Prime Video is reportedly due to the terrible performance of Tejas at the box office. We seriously hope that Pippa is a good film per se and it is not merely escaping the theatrical route to save its share of embarrassment.
Mark your calendars for November 10, as Pippa gets released on Prime Video then.
