Akshay Kumar has become the target of heavy trolling after his beach cleaning activity. Many social media users believe the actor’s recent appearance at Juhu beach was just a publicity stunt and criticised him for not doing anything meaningful beyond photo opportunities.
Akshay joined Amruta Fadnavis, wife of CM Devendra Fadnavis, for a clean-up drive at Juhu beach after Ganpati Visarjan. While the initiative looked positive, many online users dismissed it as “showbaazi” and argued that such gestures do little to address the bigger problem.
Some people pointed out that Akshay could have employed over 100 workers for a day to ensure a proper clean-up instead of taking part in symbolic efforts. For them, the government’s lack of accountability and celebrities’ shallow activism has become frustrating.
Although Akshay has claimed he donated Rs. 25 crore to PM Care Funds for Punjab flood relief, many fans argued that bureaucracy and corruption stopped real help from reaching those affected. As a Punjabi himself, they expected him to extend more direct assistance.
The heated reactions on social media highlight growing frustration with celebrity activism. Many people now urge society to move beyond fan culture and push for genuine action that makes a lasting difference in communities rather than temporary media attention.
