Much-Hyped Sequel Delay: Scared of Dhurandhar 2 & Toxic?

Awarapan 2 Release Shift Explained by Mukesh Bhatt

One of the biggest Bollywood box office clashes is expected in the coming weeks, with films gradually moving away from the crowded window. One such film is Awarapan 2, which has now stepped out of the clash. The sequel was earlier seen as part of a high-stakes release period.

Awarapan 2 was initially scheduled to release on April 13. Reports later confirmed that the release had been postponed. Fans first assumed the delay was due to the closeness of Dhurandhar 2 and Toxic releases.

Producer Mukesh Bhatt recently clarified the situation. He stated that the film will now release in May or June. He also denied reports linking the shift to competition from Dhurandhar 2 or Toxic.

Mukesh Bhatt explained that the delay was caused by Emraan Hashmi meeting with an accident during the shoot. The actor had to undergo surgery. As a result, the schedule was affected.

He revealed that Emraan Hashmi has been advised to avoid action scenes for 45 days. Due to this, the remaining action portions had to be postponed. This led to a change in the overall release plan.

Bhatt also made it clear that he is not worried about competition. He stated that he is not scared of Dhurandhar 2 or Toxic. According to him, the shift is purely due to practical reasons.

Only one shooting schedule remains for Awarapan 2. This includes around 20 days of filming in Malaysia. The schedule mainly consists of important action sequences.

The final shoot will resume once Emraan Hashmi completes his recovery period. Fans noted that even without the injury, avoiding the crowded release window might have been a wise move.

Now, the focus is on how Awarapan 2 performs at the box office. Audiences are keen to see whether the film can still make a strong impact after the release shift.
