Ayushmann Khurrana is all set to go for another experimentation this time with Thama. Notably, the actor has opened up about the upcoming film in an interview, saying that he is excited for Thama, as it is arriving on Diwali.

The 40-year-old said that Diwali is a festival where family members come together to celebrate and also spend some time with their friends at the same time.

Ayushmann mentioned that he has a habit of visiting theatres with his family on Diwali, and he feels happy when big crowds are entering the theatres during the festival.

He added that Thama is the biggest release of his career, and he is aiming to spread joy, happiness, and laughter around India with his film.

The singer stated that the production team involved with Thama is doing a lot of hard work, including director Aditya Sarpotdar. He said that everyone is giving the best from their side to ensure that Thama turns out to be an experience no one would ever forget.

Thama is a part of the Maddock Horror Comedy Universe, which has been one of the most successful franchises so far in Bollywood. The last entry in the franchise, Stree 2, managed to collect more than Rs. 500 crores at the box office.

Aditya Sarpotdar has previously directed Munjya, also a part of the same franchise, which was also a big hit last year. Thama will also feature Rashmika Mandanna.

Considering the genre of the film, which also focuses on vampires, Aditya needs to ensure that Ayushmann is presented differently this time.

Ayushmann’s films used to do a business of Rs. 100 crores before the COVID-19 pandemic. However, the situation changed after the pandemic since the kind of films done by Ayushmann are mostly being watched on OTT platforms nowadays.

While Dream Girl 2 was a hit at the box office, Ayushmann needs something bigger than that, and there is a possibility that Thama can do that for him now.

Let’s wait until Diwali to see if Thama manages to break some records at the box office.
