The festival of colors might not be beneficial for the Hindi box office as it has failed to produce any wonders for the viewers during the festive season.
The last mighty release Chhaava was released on February 14th and since then, no other film has been even decent at the box office. With the Holi weekend on sight, the only film which was expected to have a decent box office collection was John Abraham’s The Diplomat.
The spy thriller starring John Abraham is struggling to have a decent run at the box office despite being released during a National Holiday.
With a rough figure of around 5 crores on its opening day, the film will be one of the most underwhelming projects for John Abraham. With over 7k tickets sold in one day on BookMyShow, the film is struggling to have a good start.
On the other hand, Chhaava is still trying to attract audiences despite over a month after its release. With 4k tickets selling per hour for the film on BMS, it is still having a firm grip over all the new releases.
Talking about The Diplomat, poor promotional campaigning and overall marketing of the film has led to this disastrous opening for the film. While the plot and topic the film raises is worth watching, people are unaware of the fact that a John Abraham film is releasing on Holi due to poor promotions.
It shows how marketing and connecting with the audience is still a major boost for any film. It doesn’t matter if you are a high profile star or a newcomer, good promotional campaigns might help your film grow and perform better.
Only positive word of mouth can save The Diplomat now as it prepares to release on the festival of colors on March 14th. It remains to be seen how the film turns out to be with such pathetic marketing and promotions.
