Maddock Films is planning a major expansion of its horror comedy universe under Dinesh Vijan. He announced that the studio will release seven new titles in the next five years, making it one of the boldest long-term franchise plans in the industry.
Dinesh Vijan stressed that Maddock will not stretch the franchise for short-term gains. He explained that the team wants steady growth with three to four key releases timed carefully, focusing on long-lasting appeal instead of chasing quick trends that fade fast.
The upcoming lineup includes Shakti Shalini in 2026, Chamunda in 2027, and Bhediya 2, Chhoti Stree, and Stree 3 in 2028. In 2029, the slate adds Maha Munjya, Pehla Mahayudh, and Doosara Mahayudh. These films follow the success of Stree, Bhediya, and Munjya.
Vijan said Maddock’s strength comes from stories rooted in culture and folklore, which helps the studio connect with you even when bigger productions fail. This focus on authenticity has kept their horror comedies popular and relevant.
He also spoke about changing viewing habits as more people consume short-form content on their phones. Maddock is now adopting a platform-neutral approach, making sure its stories reach audiences through theatres, OTT platforms, and mobile screens.
Vijan added that AI will soon change how films are made, lowering production costs and expanding creative choices. But he believes that only strong, honest storytelling will stay meaningful in a crowded entertainment landscape.
