Aamir Khan Exposes SRK and Salman Khan

In one of Aamir Khan’s longest interviews recently, which lasted over five hours, he spoke extensively about everything from his debut film to his marriage, divorce, and friendships within the industry.

While many topics were discussed, what struck people the most was Aamir’s response when asked why his house doesn’t attract crowds like other stars’ homes do.

Using the example of how Shah Rukh Khan and Salman Khan often have throngs of fans gathered outside their residences just to catch a glimpse, the interviewer asked why such crowds are never seen outside Aamir’s home.

Aamir shared a humorous anecdote from the time when he and his then-wife Kiran Rao moved into the same building as Jackie Shroff. He recalled seeing a huge crowd outside and feeling excited that fans had gathered to see him, only to realise they were actually there for Jackie Shroff’s son, Tiger Shroff.

Following this, many viewers interpreted Aamir’s remarks as a subtle hint that Shah Rukh and Salman may pay people to gather outside their homes to give the impression of stardom.

This sparked a debate online.

Some argued that while PR agencies might send paparazzi for staged “candid” moments, the fan crowds for actors like Shah Rukh and Salman are largely genuine.

Big stars like Aamir, Salman, and Amitabh Bachchan have reached a level of stardom where they feel less like celebrities and more like family to their fans, familiar and emotional. For many, standing outside their homes just for a glimpse is part of the thrill.

However, Aamir’s stardom is seen differently. He has worked extensively behind the scenes and even his on-screen characters aren’t the typical commercial heroes with slow-motion entries and punchy one-liners.

Shah Rukh and Salman, on the other hand, have larger-than-life on-screen personas that extend into real life, which makes people more eager to see them.

While a portion of the crowd could be paid, the emotion behind fans waiting outside their favourite stars’ homes is very real.
