Yami Slams Dhurandhar Negativity: Hypocrisy Exposed?

Yami Gautam Dhurandhar Controversy

On December 4, 2025, Yami Gautam posted a sharp note on X defending husband Aditya Dhar, just a day before the release of his film Dhurandhar. The message grabbed attention instantly. It came at a time when discussions around the film were already heated and divided.

In her post, Yami spoke about a growing culture where filmmakers must pay for positive publicity. She said that without payments, movies face a flood of negative coverage. According to her, this system has turned into open pressure and unfair tactics inside the industry.

The actress described the practice as damaging and poisonous for creative work. She wrote that honest filmmakers are being pushed into silence. The note reflected frustration and anger over what she described as emotional and professional exploitation in Bollywood.

Dhurandhar faces trouble ahead of its December 5 release. The family of late Major Mohit Sharma has threatened legal action. They claim the film uses his real-life story without consent, which has added legal pressure to an already tense situation.

Anger also grew after Ranveer Singh copied the popular Daiva scene from Kantara. Many viewers felt the act insulted the traditions of Karnataka’s Chamundeshwari temple. Calls for boycott followed across social media platforms.

Advance bookings show weak response for a film mounted on this scale. Several users have already begun comparing its tone to Sandeep Reddy Vanga’s Animal. Negative discussions are spreading faster than ticket sales.

Yami also suggested that a part of the backlash is planned and funded. She implied that it is not always organic outrage. She further praised Aditya Dhar’s dedication and wrote that filmmakers should not live in fear even before release.

She contrasted this system with South Indian cinema, where she claimed the industry stands together. Support from colleagues followed. Hrithik Roshan also backed her view and said honest journalism is disappearing.

At the same time, Trollers accused Yami of double standards. Some pointed out that she promoted her own film Haq with paid publicity alongside Emraan Hashmi. They questioned how paid coverage becomes wrong only when others use it.

A user argued that advance booking numbers reflect facts, not hatred. The same post claimed that film pages praised Haq before release, but went silent after it failed at the box office.

Fresh trouble came when the wife of late Pakistani officer Chaudhry Aslam Khan also threatened legal action. She warned against any portrayal that spread false narratives about her husband. This added to the list of controversies surrounding the film.

As Dhurandhar releases on December 5, 2025, attention remains intense. Viewers, media houses and affected families are watching closely. The bigger question now is whether the makers will accept criticism if the film fails to perform.
