After Booming Theatres, Monkey Man Now On Digital

Monkey Man

British-Indian actor Dev Patel’s feature directorial debut, Monkey Man, is an epic action thriller that explores the life of a young man named Kid. Kid, a young man without name, serves the elite at a lounge run by Queenie Kapoor. Kid draws inspiration from the Hindu epic of monkey commander Hanuman for his plan of retaliation against corrupt spiritual leader Baba Shakti and police officer Rana.

Although more Indians are watching films on demand via streaming services, this hasn’t stopped piracy. Since it exacerbates the already precarious state of the film business owing to Covid, piracy is intolerable. The quantity of independent films has grown, and each view on a streaming service counts.

Many people are unaware of what piracy is because they think it is prohibited and does not originate from a source that has the permission of copyright holders. Indians should utilise Google search to find out which movie is available for streaming on which platform in order to prevent piracy.

As Kid, Dev Patel gives an impressive portrayal as the protagonist, blending in with Yatana’s criminal underworld. His calm determination, which flares up into violent outbursts, is reminiscent of subdued badasses like Ryan Gosling’s lead character in Drive. But what really intrigues me about Kid is his aptitude for navigating Yatana’s criminal underground while speaking only through his eyes.
