After six years away, Deadpool, a character from Fox’s “X-Men” films, has returned to the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU). During the 2024 Super Bowl, the first “Deadpool and Wolverine” video was shown. Ryan Reynolds’s Merc With a Mouth and Hugh Jackman’s Wolverine, who made his film debut in 2017’s ‘Logan’, are featured in the video.
Deadpool is taken hostage by the Time Variance Authority on his birthday and brought into the Marvel Cinematic Universe. He is identifying as “Marvel Jesus,” Deadpool vows to inject his risque humor and off-color antics into Disney’s spotless image.
The movie centers on the anti-hero Deadpool, who is out to get revenge on the mutant Ajax for making him change into a mutant. Shawn Levy is directing the second movie, which centers on Deadpool rallying the X-Force squad to battle time-traveling soldier Cable. When the movie had its $132.4 million opening in 2018, it set records.
