The company that created the renowned DC comic book, Warner Bros. Entertainment, has been detained of all legal concerns pertaining to the screenplay for the next movie, Batman.
The corporation was found not legally accountable by a judge in New York for copying writer Christopher Wozniak’s story “The Ultimate Riddle” (now called “The Blind Man’s Hat”), which he repeatedly submitted to DC after authoring it in 1990.
In 2008, Wozniak stated that he sent the story to Michael Uslan, a film producer, to serve as the inspiration for the script for The Batman.
Although Wozniak’s lawyer contended that the defendant’s film had multiple original expressions from his story, Judge Engelmayer maintained that the narrative itself violated DC’s copyright regulations. The choice is a big step in the right direction.
The famed DC comic book creator Chris Wozniak was sued by Batman, but his action has been dismissed for plagiarism.
The judge decided that the Batman teaser, which shows investigators searching for a serial killer, was too mainstream to warrant legal action.
The judge concluded that Wozniak had not produced any convincing evidence that Warner Bros. had read his story and altered it to become The Batman.
