However, one tragic incident changed things in Suman’s life forever. The actor had bloat on him back in 1988 when an allegation was filed against him by three women, who alleged that Suman made them act in blue-films, and then he was running blue-films mafia. Even after many years, the conspiracy keeps coming in despite Suman being vindicated.

Suman in an interview said that he was jailed for six years and then even after letting him out of jail, he was monitored for a certain period. “In such a bad period, the Telugu press played an important role, where few of the celebrities spoke on my behalf. Nobody forced them at gunpoint but knowing my character and behavior, they gave positive statements in Koumudi magazine,” said Suman.

The actor further added, “Koumudi magazine published two versions of what people in Tamil and Telugu said. Tamil people didn’t know my craze in Telugu. They thought I was doing small-time films like an ordinary hero but didn’t know about my popularity. But Koumudi magazine which published statements gave a good reach out among the Tamil audience too. The press coverage helped me and I am indebted to Telugu press forever”.
