While he’s had washouts before, the result of an epic high-budget film like Kanguva will be a lifetime shocker for everyone associated with the project.

The Tamil Nadu Film Council today passed a resolution banning reviews near theaters moving forward.
Suriya’s wife, Jyothika, also harshly criticized YouTubers for giving negative reviews and trolling her husband’s film, Kanguva.

This new rule is likely to be implemented in the Telugu states as well.
The main issue with YouTubers or audiences giving reviews at theaters is their below-the-belt cheap commentary. Filmmakers repeatedly saying that they are fine with constructive criticism, but the cheap commentary, presented as reviews by some YouTubers or youth at theaters, resulting in shameless trolling of just-released films, is unacceptable to the makers.

When Dil Raju was asked about banning them in Telugu states, he stated that the Chamber would review the matter, discuss it with other producers, and soon pass a resolution to ban YouTube or audience reviews recorded outside theaters with microphones after watching movies.

The Tamil Film Active Producers Association passed the resolution after seeing the impact of live reviews from theaters for recent films like Kanguva, Indian 2, and Rajinikanth’s Vettaiyan. However, it’s clear that Kanguva played a major role in this decision.
In a way, the recent Kanguva disaster has impacted Telugu YouTubers.
