Rishab Shetty’s Kantara: Chapter 1 is enjoying a strong box office run, collecting around Rs. 75 crores during its four-day extended weekend. The film continues to draw crowds and looks set for a steady run until Diwali.
However, many Hindi version viewers have pointed out technical issues with the sound mix and subtitles. Several cinema managers confirmed that audiences complained about the background score overpowering dialogues, especially in the film’s opening scenes.
A Mumbai multiplex official stated that while the issue isn’t severe, the makers “should have taken care of it.” Another manager noted that such flaws often make viewers blame theatres for bad sound, suggesting that the team release updated prints to fix the problem.
Moviegoers also reported subtitle issues, particularly in scenes featuring Guliga. The font size appeared too small, making it hard to read even on large screens. Viewers requested the makers either dub those scenes in Hindi or improve subtitle visibility for a smoother viewing experience.
Interestingly, Hombale Films, which produced KGF – Chapter 2, faced similar feedback earlier when audiences complained about excessive loudness. The studio had then sent updated versions to theatres, setting a precedent for quality control.
Exhibitors now expect Hombale Films to address the sound and subtitle glitches in Kantara: A Legend – Chapter 1. Fixing these minor issues will help the film sustain its momentum and ensure audiences focus on the story, not the distractions.
