South Indian films now depend heavily on strong audio albums to draw audiences to theatres. Star hero films can attract crowds on their own, but a good album always boosts their reach and appeal.
The same discussion now surrounds the upcoming film of Rajamouli and Mahesh Babu. The project has been in the news for a long time and expectations continue to grow.
The film’s music is being composed by the legendary Keeravani. He is regarded as one of the greatest music composers in Indian cinema, known for his classical style and original scores.
However, some feel he may find it difficult to create a chartbuster album for today’s audience. Listeners now prefer populistic music, which composers like Anirudh and Thaman deliver consistently. This is not Keeravani’s natural zone.
Even so, Keeravani excels in originality and powerful background scores. If he can expand his style and produce an album that is both strong and viral worthy, it will be a major bonus for Mahesh and Rajamouli.
