M9 News journalist Nishant sat down with actor Kiran Abbavaram ahead of the release of his upcoming film K-Ramp, hitting theatres on October 18 as a Diwali special.
Kiran sounded confident about the film and his growth as an actor, especially in handling comedy. “K-Ramp is pure entertainment from start to end. It’s a hilarious ride. We do have a small message driving the story, but it’s not too obvious. The audience will enjoy it completely,” he said.
Talking about the use of cuss words (Bhoothulu) in the film, Kiran explained, “We’ve used them carefully to make the youth relate to the story. But it won’t affect the viewing experience. Families can watch it comfortably. In fact, our movie has more family content than most Diwali releases,” he assured.
Addressing the ongoing Tamil Nadu theatres controversy, Kiran spoke candidly. “I feel I should have the stature to talk about certain issues. I’ve decided not to comment on anything further because my words are being twisted even by our own people. Some say I’m using a sympathy card before my films. I don’t need sympathy. I just want people to like my work. If you think I’m using sympathy, don’t watch my films. Watch them only if you like my teaser or trailer,” he said emotionally.
