
The Indian audience have been largely nurturing sequence and franchise films these days. This is the reason why we are seeing a sequel or a franchise oriented film, coming out every other month in Indian cinema. Another reasonably big addition to this list is L2E Empuraan, featuring Mohanlal and Prithviraj Sukumaran.

As the film prepares for release on March 27, the makers have finally released the trailer last night.
By the looks of it, the trailer is essentially loaded with elevation blocks for the core characters in the film and mainly the one played by legendary Malayalam actor Mohanlal. He is the main man of the film, and there is a lot of elevation happening around his character.

While the political situation is in tatters, it is Mohanlal who must save the day and this is what is communicated in the trailer.
The first part mainly run on a cinematic political plot line and the big twist in the end, the sequel appears to be more like a commercialised pan India film. There is richness and large production scale exhibited in almost every frame.

The core premise of the film has understandably undergone a lot of upscaling. Does this mean the originality and rooted sense of the first part got compromised?
Nevertheless, director Prithviraj Sukumaran, who is also an actor himself has a great grip over commercial cinema narrating. The expectation is that he would’ve worked the trick.
The soundtrack and visuals are in tune with the nature of the proceedings. There’s visual richness and grand presentation through the course of the trailer.
The best thing about the first part was the realistic setup and core Malayalam-style narration. But in the sequel’s trailer, grandeur and pan India appeal have taken the center stage. It has to be seen how this would pan out.
The Malayalam box office is obviously going to absolutely shake up with this film. The word of mouth will dictate the box office returns in the other language markets.
