Mass Maharaja, Ravi Teja‘s Ravanasura, is releasing this Friday, April 7th. It is a good Friday and a bank holiday. If the first day of a film turns out to be a holiday, it gives a big boost to its box office collections.
Ravi Teja scored two blockbusters recently with Dhamaka and Waltair Veerayya. Ideally, his next should have had tremendous buzz among the audience.
But Ravanasura isn’t carrying the usual hype associated with a Ravi Teja starrer, mainly because the film isn’t the usual mass masala Ravi Teja entertainer; also, it doesn’t have the benefit of a festival season like Waltair Veerayya or hit songs like Dhamaka.
April 7th is a good date for Ravanasura as it is a holiday. The film should open well on its first day first show, despite the not-so-great buzz due to the holiday factor. But the word-of-mouth should be very positive for Ravanasura to survive at the box office post the first show.
Dasara will again pick up during its second weekend, and if the content of Ravanasura isn’t very strong, then Dasara might pose a serious threat to Ravanasura’s box office collections.
Ravanasura is touted to be an edge-of-the-seat thriller with many twists and turns. Director Sudheer Varma is also banking heavily on the success of this film after a series of flops in his career.
