Sikandar Madharasi

A.R. Murugadoss has long been regarded as one of the few Tamil directors capable of blending strong social messages with commercial appeal, second only to Shankar in this aspect.

While he has also dabbled in purely commercial entertainers, Ghajini remains the defining film of his career, showcasing his signature storytelling style.

This success propelled him into the big league, leading to a string of films such as Stalin with Chiranjeevi, Ghajini with Aamir Khan, 7aum Arivu with Suriya, and Thuppakki and Kaththi with Vijay.

However, his career trajectory took a downturn with Spyder starring Mahesh Babu, which turned out to be a disaster at the box office.

He somewhat bounced back with Sarkar, which did decent business, though it didn’t match his previous hits. Darbar with Rajinikanth was another huge flop.

Despite these setbacks, Murugadoss continues to land major projects, including Sikandar with Salman Khan and Madharasi with Sivakarthikeyan. These films are crucial for his comeback, but the first signs aren’t promising.

The recently released teaser of Sikandar has received overwhelmingly negative feedback. Fans feel it lacks Murugadoss’ trademark style and struggle to see his creative stamp on the film. With an EID release, it remains to be seen whether Sikandar can overcome this early criticism and find success at the box office.

Meanwhile, Sivakarthikeyan’s fans are equally anxious. After delivering a massive 300-crore blockbuster with Amaran, expectations are sky-high for Madharasi. Going by what AR Murugadoss has dished out in Sikandar teaser they have hit panic mode.

If Murugadoss doesn’t rediscover his form, this could turn into a risky venture for the star. The stakes are high, and Murugadoss needs to prove that he still has what it takes to deliver a solid hit.

However, one thing is clear—Madharasi’s teaser is miles ahead of Sikandar’s. This only proves that Murugadoss has struggled to create any magic in Bollywood, largely because Salman Khan is a lethargic actor, whereas Sivakarthikeyan is passionate and dedicated. The difference in their approach clearly reflects in the Madharasi teaser.

So, fans need not panic over Sikandar’s poor teaser. Madharasi still holds promise, and if Murugadoss plays his cards right, this could be the film that redeems him.
