Generally, in the film industry, the financial matters are settled within the boundaries, and it is common to witness delayed or deferred payments to actors and technicians. But there are certain people who fight against this system, and we might now have a new addition to this list.
Talented Tamil film maker Kongara Sudha who is one of the dynamic female film makers in Indian cinema has done something out of the box.
In a significant development, director Sudha Kongara has moved the Madras High Court over an alleged unpaid remuneration of ₹8.39 crore for her film Parasakthi. This film released last year itself, and it turned out to be one of the biggest disasters in financial and film terms.
Reacting on this matter today, the Madras high court has indicated that the satellite telecast of the film should be deferred until July 8. The petition further requests a stay on the July 10 release of Idhayam Murali which is also produced by the same producer.
This is a bowl and unconventional choice taken by the female film maker, and this should certainly land the producer in a legal mess if the dispute is not settled at the earliest.
Usually, such matters are settled outside court with unable solution between the producer and the concerned party. We shall wait and see if the same would be the case this time, or whether the producer would be ready to fight the legal way in court which is time consuming.
