A case has been filed in the United States against popular industrialist and Indian billionaire Gautam Adani for offering bribes to secure solar energy contracts.

This is not the first time Adani has landed in legal trouble internationally. Earlier, the Hindenburg Report also accused Adani of committing corruption.

Meanwhile, Adani’s legal troubles might now affect Telangana CM Revanth Reddy, who is on a spree of signing multiple deals with Adani and inviting investments from his industries.

In January this year, the Telangana government made a deal with Adani in Davos, inviting investments worth Rs. 12,400 crores. Adani decided to invest Rs. 5,000 crores in a Data Centre, Rs. 5,000 crores in a Pump Storage Project, Rs. 1,000 crores in establishing an R&D ecosystem in the Defence sector, and Rs. 1,400 crores in Cement Plants.

Recently, Adani also donated Rs. 100 crores to the construction of Skill University, which the state government is building on the outskirts of Hyderabad.

On one side, Congress leader Rahul Gandhi opposes Adani and speaks against him. On the other side, Revanth Reddy has been actively making deals with Adani. When questioned about these dual standards, Revanth Reddy said that Modi funds Adani, and indirectly, he is taking Modi’s money for the state’s development by making deals with Adani.

After today’s case filed in New York, Rahul Gandhi is holding a press meet in Parliament against Adani. Meanwhile, people are wondering whether he will also instruct his party’s CM to take the same stance against Adani to avoid allegations of his party maintaining dual standards on this Adani issue.
