Just days after the Lok Sabha permanently sealed Amaravati’s statutory status as the capital of Andhra Pradesh, Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu has wasted no time moving from legal victory to ground-level execution.
Early this morning, the Chief Minister departed for a high-profile, two-day official visit to Singapore. The immediate objective? Securing massive foreign direct investments (FDI), fast-tracking global funding pools, and finalizing advanced urban planning models to transform Amaravati into a world-class smart city.
Accompanied by a senior delegation, including Municipal Administration Minister P. Narayana and top officials from the Capital Region Development Authority (CRDA), Naidu’s schedule reflects a highly intense, calculated push for immediate economic partnerships
The itinerary includes a direct bilateral meeting with Singapore Prime Minister Lawrence Wong and senior cabinet ministers to cement government-to-government cooperation.
On the corporate front, Naidu is set to engage with heavyweights like Lim Siang Guan (Advisor to the GIC Executive Committee), Robert Yap (Executive Chairman of YCH Group), and Karan Bajwa (President of Google Cloud Asia-Pacific).
Crucially, the Chief Minister will hold a dedicated planning session with Surbana Jurong, the master planning firm originally attached to the capital’s design, to recalibrate infrastructure timelines.
By pitching Andhra Pradesh directly at the World Cities Summit and leading the CII Partnership Summit Roadshow, Naidu is signaling to the global market that the era of policy ambiguity is dead, and Amaravati is officially open for mega-scale development.
