Telangana has been hit hard by incessant rainfall over the past few days. Especially South Telangana districts like Khammam, Nalgonda, Suryapet, and Mahbubabad, were severely affected by the heavy rains.

Amidst this crisis, Congress and BRS leaders are waging verbal war against each other. BRS working president KT Rama Rao took to social media to prove how BRS’s efforts are helping Hyderabad remain less impacted by the floods and criticizing Congress for failing to provide immediate flood relief.

He added that while the government in the neighbouring state secured helicopters and power boats from the centre, the Telangana government failed to get similar support from the union government.

Speaking to the media, BRS MLA Harish Rao alleged that flood victims are expressing their anger at Congress leaders for not providing immediate relief measures. He alleged that the government’s negligence led to the disaster in Khammam.

On the other hand, Chief Minister Revanth Reddy demanded KCR donate Rs. 2000 crore to the CM Relief Fund. He claimed that KCR amassed huge wealth during his rule and should contribute to the fund.

He challenged Harish Rao by saying that he would reveal how BRS permitted illegal constructions in Khammam during its rule. He added that KT Rama Rao is just making baseless statements from the USA.

Amidst this verbal war, a physical clash erupted between Congress and BRS leaders during Harish Rao’s visit to Khammam today.

Congress party workers and BRS party workers fought against each other in front of the vehicles of Harish Rao, Puvvada Ajay, and Sabitha Indra Reddy. During the clash, Puvvada Ajay’s vehicle was damaged, and BRS party worker Santosh was injured.

Witnessing all of this, the public is expressing displeasure with both parties. They opined that instead of working together to support flood-hit victims during this crisis, both Congress and BRS leaders are more focused on taking potshots at each other.
