The Telangana anti-narcotics wing has launched a major operational shift by integrating data intelligence to dismantle cross-border smuggling networks. The state’s specialized unit, EAGLE Force, has officially initiated a digital campaign targeting drug syndicates that use commercial postal and courier services to bypass highway checkpoints.
Law enforcement is now using advanced data analytics to map dark-web signatures and digital logistics footprints. By deploying AI tools like Shield AI, investigators can process massive transit data, match suspicious cargo patterns, and track cryptocurrency transactions linked to supply operations.
Recent operations using these digital upgrades led to breakthroughs in uncovering networks smuggling cocaine, MDMA, and LSD from Goa and Bengaluru into Hyderabad. This strategy shifts the department’s focus from random physical searches to precise, intelligence-led interventions.
In addition to digital tracking, the administration is installing high-resolution scanning infrastructure at key border checkpoints to flag suspicious parcels in real time. These tools help officers monitor transit routes connecting neighboring states more effectively.
Officials emphasize that reducing grassroots demand is as critical as tech enforcement. The department has provided public access to AI screening tools to help families and educators identify vulnerability patterns, pairing strict enforcement with rehabilitation access.
