Rajiv-Kumar-election-commission-of-indiaThe Central Election Commission (CEC) has expressed its anger over the prevalence of fake votes and other irregularities in Andhra Pradesh. The Chief Electoral Officer (CEO), Mukesh Kumar Meena, faced the ire of the CEC, who received complaints from political parties and NGOs. As a result, Meena was summoned to Delhi on Tuesday.

During a three-hour discussion between Meena and the Deputy Commissioner of the Central Election Commission, concerns were raised regarding unusual additions and subtractions of votes, as well as other factors, considering that the elections were less than a year away.

Unfortunately, the Deputy Commissioner was not satisfied with Meena’s explanation, stressing the need to eliminate any room for suspicion and manipulation in the current political landscape. In response to these concerns, the Central Election Commission has instructed Meena to hold a meeting with political parties on the 20th of this month.
The meeting will aim to address issues such as the addition of new voters and the removal of deceased individuals from the voter list. The Commission has also decided to identify those responsible for irregularities in the voter list and take appropriate action.

Furthermore, it has come to light that the Central Election Commission had previously ordered the initiation of actions against officers and police personnel involved in irregularities during the MLC elections. As a result, Meena has scheduled a meeting with the District Collectors in Visakhapatnam on the 2nd and 3rd of August.
