BJP National President JP Nadda claimed that Andhra Pradesh is progressing under Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu. He spoke at the concluding event of the ‘Sarathyam’ Yatra led by BJP state president PVN Madhav.
Nadda criticised the previous YSRCP government, saying corruption and anti-democratic policies had pushed the state into darkness. He stated that Modi and Chandrababu ended that rule and put Andhra Pradesh back on the path of development.
He highlighted the NDA’s national achievements, including building the Ram temple in Ayodhya, abolishing triple talaq, and implementing GST reforms that raised living standards. He emphasized the slogan, “Sab ka Saath, Sab ka Vikas, Sab ka Vishwas.”
Regarding Andhra Pradesh, Nadda mentioned new national highways, emerging smart cities in Visakhapatnam, Kakinada, and Tirupati, and the Sagarmala project developing 14 ports. Ten central educational institutions and a new South Coast Railway zone were also part of the state’s progress.
He added that Amrit Bharat and Vande Bharat trains were introduced, with Visakhapatnam, Vijayawada, and Orvakal seeing major development. Bhogapuram received Rs. 625 crores, and six new medical institutions were launched to enhance healthcare.
Despite these claims, critics note that BJP previously supported YSR Congress during Jagan Reddy’s regime. Allegations of inaction in disproportionate assets cases and the YS Vivekananda Reddy case suggest that BJP still has a long way to prove its commitment in Andhra Pradesh.
