The government is gearing up to launch a comprehensive investigation into various land scams that allegedly occurred in Visakhapatnam during the last five years under the YSRCP rule. This inquiry will focus on high-profile cases such as the Dasapalla lands, Hayagriva Infra, Ramanaidu studio lands, and the questionable land allotment to Sarada Peetha in Bhimili.

Additionally, issues like the granting of freehold permits to de-pattas, the exclusion of certain lands from Section 22-A of the Registration Act, and instances where individuals were reportedly coerced into relinquishing their lands will be scrutinized.
To ensure the legal robustness of this investigation, the government is consulting with legal experts extensively. This includes discussions with government pleaders at the district level and consultations with government GPs and standing councils at the state level.

The goal is to address any potential legal disputes preemptively and to frame the investigation within a strong legal framework. One of the contentious issues under review is the allocation of an acre of land in Kothavalasa of Bhimili Mandal to Sarada Peetha at a highly subsidized rate of just one lakh per acre. The government is deliberating on the legal avenues available to reclaim this land.
Moreover, there are allegations that some YSRCP leaders used threats to forcefully acquire lands worth crores of rupees from residents in Visakhapatnam and its surrounding areas.
