Andhra_Pradesh_High_CourtThe central government has clarified that there is no pending proposal to shift Andhra Pradesh High Court from Amaravati to Kurnool.

Union Law Minister Kiran Rijiju gave a written reply to a question asked by TDP MP Kanakamedala Ravindra Kumar in the Rajya Sabha.

He said the state government will be responsible for bearing the cost of running the high court.

The minister said that the state government will take a decision in consultation with the High Court in this regard.

“The state government should come up with a complete proposal on shifting the current High Court to Kurnool. Both the High Court and the AP government should submit their views to the Center in this regard,” the minister said.

It is clear that the state government did not move an inch on this issue even though the ruling party has used the issue of the Three Capitals to score political points.

We are less than two years into the elections. In all probability, the issue of three capitals will be pushed to after the elections.
