How Happy Are Indians? Global Report Reveals

Indians Happy

How do we determine which country is excelling in providing comfort and a better life to its citizens? While it’s nearly impossible to measure everything, geographers and economists have introduced a way to get a rough idea, called the World Happiness Report. It is issued every year so we can understand where we need to focus more.

Recently, the World Happiness Index report was released, providing insightful information. The evaluation was based on six key variables: GDP, social support, life expectancy, freedom, corruption, and generosity, along with other factors.

European countries like Finland, Denmark, and Iceland have topped the list with maximum points in the evaluation. This trend has been consistent for a few years, as these countries continually rank at the top. Meanwhile, frontrunners like the US, Germany, and France rank in the twenties, which is not a bad position. Japan and China also have relatively better indexes, ranking 51st and 60th, respectively. The worst conditions can be observed in our country.

Yes, India, the biggest potential market and a huge workforce for the world, lies among the last countries in the happiness index, ranking 126th. Its neighbors Sri Lanka and Bangladesh rank 128th and 129th, respectively. Even Pakistan has a better rank than us.

Although it doesn’t provide a complete idea about a nation’s situation, we as a country must strive to improve our situation to achieve a respectable rank. Please share your thoughts.
