Every generation finds new ways to judge children sometimes for being too bold, sometimes for being too naïve.
Television shows featuring kids often spark emotions, especially when a child slips or speaks too freely in front of millions. But in today’s social media age, even small mistakes can explode into nationwide debates, where empathy is easily lost.
The latest example is a Kaun Banega Crorepati episode involving ten-year-old contestant Ishit Bhatt. During the game, he interrupted host Amitabh Bachchan several times and later lost ₹25,000 after giving a wrong answer.
Amitabh Bachchan responded calmly, reminding that overconfidence should never replace humility. But once the clip went viral, social media turned harsh. Many users, including doctors and influencers, called the child “rude” and blamed his parents for poor upbringing.
Others defended him, saying he’s just a child who was likely nervous and overwhelmed on national television. They urged adults to show compassion instead of criticism.
Children often speak or act without realising how it appears. Publicly shaming them for natural behaviour can cause lasting emotional damage.
This incident is less about one child’s attitude and more about how harshly society reacts today. A viral moment should never strip a child of confidence or peace.
Very satisfying ending!
Not saying this about the kid, but the parents. If you can’t teach your kids humility, patience, and manners, they turn out to be such rude overconfident lot. Not winning a single rupee will surely pinch them for a long time.
