Days are passing, but the celebration remains the same. India has achieved the gigantic feat of performing a soft landing on the south pole of the moon. In the moment of celebration, Prime Minister Narendra Modi made a significant announcement.
As he addressed the scientists who were associated with this monumental mission, he declared that the day of August 23rd would be remembered as National Space Day and celebrated in the years to come.
Later, the Prime Minister’s Office made an official tweet to announce this decision. Additionally, he stated that the landing point of the Vikram lander would be known as ‘Shiv Shakti,’ and the point where Chandrayaan-2 had left its mark in 2019 would be called ‘Tiranga Point.’
In his congratulatory speech, he highlighted how inspirational these feats are. Modi also emphasized that the Shiv Shakti and Tiranga Points would serve as sources of inspiration for generations to come in the field of space research.
India’s recent success in space research is gradually establishing the country as a front-runner. A dedicated day to celebrate these recent achievements will not only raise awareness among citizens but also instill a sense of concern for space exploration in future generations of Indians.
