Ram Mandir Gets Heavy Backlash: How Irresponsible!

Ram Mandir faces criticism over carvings

The Ram Mandir in Ayodhya has once again become the centre of discussion this time not for devotion, but for disappointment. Recent visuals shared by the Shri Ram Janmabhoomi Teerth Kshetra have drawn sharp criticism from the public for what many call poor maintenance and flawed craftsmanship.

Faith often carries an expectation of beauty and reverence, especially when it manifests through sacred art. Temples in India have long been admired for their precision, balance, and artistic excellence. But the new images showing damaged sculptures, stains, and even discarded tea cups have left devotees angry and hurt.

Commentator Ajeet Bharti criticised the carvings as “below average,” pointing out broken elements, disproportioned figures, and visible stains on the temple walls. He questioned how a project representing divine devotion could appear so carelessly handled.

Echoing this sentiment, writer Varun Grover remarked that the visuals reflect growing indifference beneath grand religious displays, suggesting that devotion without diligence risks losing its essence.

For millions, the Ram Mandir stands as the outcome of centuries of struggle, sacrifice, and faith. But these viral visuals showing chipped idols, spilled paint, and litter near sacred displays have raised serious questions about maintenance and respect.

While some argue that the site is still under construction and final cleaning will follow, others blame visitors for lacking civic sense and the authorities for negligence. Regardless of the reason, many agree that true devotion lies not just in building a temple, but in preserving its sanctity.

The message is clear faith deserves both reverence and responsibility. Maintaining the Ram Mandir with purity and care is the duty of everyone who visits and those entrusted with its upkeep.
