Captain Ayush Mhatre said the squad felt honoured to carry forward the winning culture set by India’s senior teams. He highlighted recent global successes as a major source of motivation for the young players.

India’s men lifted the T20 World Cup in 2024 under Rohit Sharma, while the women’s team won the ODI World Cup in 2025 under Harmanpreet Kaur. Mhatre said these achievements inspired the Under 19 side to play fearless cricket.

Captain Reflects on Team Effort

Calling the triumph special, Mhatre praised the team’s discipline and execution. He said the players trusted the plan and expressed themselves freely on the field.

According to the captain, the focus remained on staying calm under pressure. The team believed in their preparation and backed each other throughout the tournament.

Vaibhav Sooryavanshi Shines in the Final

The final was dominated by Vaibhav Sooryavanshi, who delivered a breathtaking knock of 175 off 80 balls. His innings included 15 fours and 15 sixes and completely shifted the momentum in India’s favour.

Sooryavanshi’s aggressive approach unsettled England’s bowlers early. His innings proved decisive in setting up a massive total.

India’s Massive Total Seals the Match

India posted 411/9 in their 50 overs, putting England under immense pressure. In response, England were bowled out for 311 in 40.2 overs.

Caleb Falconer fought hard with a spirited 115 off 67 balls. However, the required run rate proved too steep for England to recover.

Bowlers Deliver to Complete Dominant Win

RS Ambrish led the bowling attack with figures of 3/56. Deepesh Devendran and Kanishk Chouhan supported well, claiming two wickets each.

Vaibhav Sooryavanshi capped off a dream tournament by winning both Player of the Match and Player of the Series. He finished as India’s top scorer with 439 runs.
