Stephen Fleming has become England’s new Test head coach, but Michael Vaughan believes his job will be much tougher than it was at Chennai Super Kings.
The former England captain said Fleming will not have an MS Dhoni like captain to help him in the England dressing room.
Vaughan said Fleming was a brilliant coach at CSK, but Dhoni also played a huge role in the franchise’s success.
According to him, Dhoni controlled the team on the field while Fleming looked after things from outside. Vaughan feels England do not have a player who can do the same job.
The former England captain also believes Fleming could change the way England build their bowling attack.
Instead of depending only on pace, he expects England to focus more on skill, something that worked well for CSK over the years.
Fleming has already proved himself in IPL by winning multiple titles. Despite, coaching an international Test side brings a different kind of pressure.
England have struggled in recent Test series, and expectations from the new coach will be high from the beginning.
