Passengers on an Air India Express flight from Delhi to Pune reportedly faced a difficult situation after being stuck inside an aircraft with technical issues. The incident occurred at Indira Gandhi International Airport and lasted for more than three hours.
The flight, IX-1230, was scheduled to depart at 4:40 AM. Passengers had already boarded the aircraft around 4:20 AM. Soon after boarding, the air conditioning system reportedly began malfunctioning inside the cabin.
According to passengers, the AC system kept switching on and off repeatedly. This caused the cabin to become hot and humid. Many flyers said the conditions became uncomfortable and difficult to tolerate during the long wait.
One passenger claimed that breathing inside the aircraft became challenging due to poor ventilation. Another flyer shared on social media that people were left inside what felt like a heat chamber without clear updates.
The flight eventually departed at around 7:45 AM, nearly three hours behind schedule. The delay and cabin conditions triggered strong reactions from passengers online.
Air India Express later issued a statement acknowledging the issue. The airline said the technical fault was identified after boarding and engineers worked to fix it before departure.
The airline also stated that alternate cooling support was arranged during the delay. However, several passengers claimed that the backup arrangements were not sufficient given the situation inside the aircraft.
The incident has once again raised concerns about passenger comfort and communication during technical disruptions in Indian aviation.
