The US visa rush is becoming increasingly stressful for Indian students. Many have already spent large amounts on admissions and tuition deposits, yet they are struggling to secure F-1 visa appointments at US consulates across the country.
Attharv Dey, an online US visa consultant, shared insights about recent activity on the visa portal. He claimed that a major slot release took place two days ago, but prime June and July appointments were booked within minutes due to heavy demand.
According to his observations, the portal showed limited updates on May 17. Only VAC biometric slots for August 3 were visible, while corresponding consular interview appointments did not open. This has left many applicants stuck in the middle of the process.
Dey suggested that earlier bulk slot releases may have already filled most summer availability. June appointments are now extremely limited, while July slots appear only occasionally when cancellations or rescheduling happen.
He also warned that the visa portal may become sensitive during peak traffic. Frequent logins or switching between consulates such as Delhi, Mumbai, Chennai, and Hyderabad could temporarily restrict access for users.
Although these claims are not official statements, they reflect the growing frustration among students. For many Indian applicants, securing an F-1 visa slot has now become more challenging than gaining admission to a US university.
